Newland Contract

Newland Contract

1. All Members are required to abstain from using alcohol or other drugs. Members returning to, or in the house under the influence of alcohol or drugs are handled on a case by case basis, and may be required to go to detox, a higher level of care, or discharged to another facility. Members must comply with drug and alcohol tests including "for cause" and random testing, by the provider.

2. Violence, physical altercations, or possession of any type of weapons are strictly prohibited. Members are not permitted to engage in any type of gambling, or illegal activities while residing in the house.

3. If you choose to be a Member of Recover Newland, community meetings are mandatory and shall be attended on a regular basis.

4. Residents agree to be on time and prepared to leave when their ride to their treatment provider arrives. Members will follow the schedule posted, and staff reserves the right to change this schedule as needed.

5. Members are not permitted to have their own cars unless approved by staff. No parking is allowed on the street.

6. Members must eat only at the dining room tables or in the kitchen(s). Food is not allowed in other areas of the home or bedrooms. Only water is allowed in bedrooms.

7. Smoking is ONLY PERMITTED in designated areas as instructed by staff.

8. Members must keep noise and music to a minimum and be respectful, always being mindful of our neighbors at ALL TIMES. Please always be a nice neighbor.

9. Participation in weekly chores must be completed by each Member and will be assigned by staff.

10. If you are offered a scholarship for your rent, you will be required to participate in a chore at the house to contribute toward your rental abatement.

11. Members agree to actively participate in peer coaching and skills services as directed by staff.

12. Recover Newland rent is $300.00 per month unless prior arrangements or a scholarship are approved. There is an application fee of $200.00. The total move-in cost for the first month is $500.00. This amount will be pro-rated based on move-in day and based on a 30-day calendar month.

13. Residents understand they are not “tenants” of the property; they are members of a program, and if they break any rule at the house, or are not in compliance with their outside treatment provider, they may be discharged from the program and may be asked to leave the property immediately. We must honor this policy to keep the rule-abiding residents safe.

14. Members will be required to attend a PHP (partial hospitalization program) unless other arrangements are approved by Recover staff. Members agree to be compliant with their voluntary provider and agree to sign a release of information if needed to allow Recover staff to receive and share clinical and behavioral updates.

15. There are no guests or visitors allowed on the property at any time. No exceptions.

16. Members are expected to maintain appropriate attire at all times.

17. Members must be involved with voluntary, approved treatment providers and remain in good standing with the prescribed treatment plan.

18. If Member(s) leave the facility voluntarily or involuntarily, they will have 24 hours to remove all of their personal belongings. Recover Newland will not be responsible for personal property after 24 hours of the member’s departure.

19. Members are to remain in good standing with all house rules.

20. Members are to respect their neighbors, each other, and staff; no profane or offensive language directed to our neighbors, staff, or other house Members or offensive behavior. First offense is a verbal warning noted in Member’s file, second offense is a written warning, and third offense may trigger expulsion or loss of privileges.

21. No sharing of meds, or piling them up.
